St. Lucy is the Patron Saint of the Blind, and her feast day is December 13. She is also a favorite saint in many Scandinavian countries, with celebrations that include special foods, music, and processions with young ladies wearing lit candles in a wreath on their heads.

To honor this saint, the Xavier Society for the Blind has assembled six great singers, with the noted Woody Regan on the piano, who will entertain you with songs from Broadway, opera, and many different countries. Among the featured items will be the sextet from "Lucia di Lammermoor," and of course, Santa Lucia. (We know it's a song about a harbor, not about the saint, but since the harbor is named AFTER the saint...)

Following the concert, there will be a wine and light munchy reception, where those attending will have a chance to meet and chat with the artists.

Please join us. Take a break from the Christmas rush, and spend a quiet afternoon enjoying the beautiful music in the Victor Borge Hall at the Scandinavia House. You will still be able to join friends for dinner, or go to a Broadway show.

Seats are limited, so please make your reservations now.
